Great River Relay Revival

Girls, I know I brought this up last year and got some positive feedback....but nothing ever really came of it. I am serious this year. I am looking for 12 committed women to participate in the Great River Relay this year. 198 miles from LaCrosse, WI to St. Paul, MN on the last weekend in August. Check out the link below and let me know if you are interested....for real interested. ;)

So let me get this straight-each person would run 2 sets of 8 miles within a 4 hour period? Is that accurate? I skimmed the pages bu I would seriously be interested providing I read it correctly providing i don't run a full marathon or anything like that-no time to train!

nope. Each person runs three legs. The distance for each leg varies anywhere between 3 and 8 miles. And the race is 24 hours long...each person will run at least ONCE through the evening. PS. I know I am competitive. I wont' deny it....but I only want to do this for FUN. No competing...I swear, I swear, I swear!

Oooohhh....I'm already signed up to be Grandma that weekend. It is my daughters wedding anniversary and they are running away for the weekend. Dang! Really does sound like fun!

I did Hood to Coast in Oregon last year, and it sounds like this is a very similar format. This is seriously a really fun team event, and you'll get to know things about your friends, after sleeping in fields or parking lots, spending 24 hours in a van with 5 other people who have been running and sweating all day. It's wonderful! Leah, I need to check our summer calendar when I get home!!

Leah,
I still think that I would do it. I will just need to know ahead for blocking work and call schedules.
Leslie was interested in it last year as well--I can check with her to see if the weekend works for her this year.

I will check with Teresa to see if she wants to do it. It is about $100 per person correct?

I'd be game too! As long as it truly isn't competitive - I don't want to be the one slowing the team down! How many do we have now?

Did you know the Leading Lady Marathon that Jane is running in SD is the weekend before this race? Was ayone planning on going to that???

Count me in as a firm comittment to the Great River Relay- I checked in with Terry and he doesn't mind me being gone on his birthday, so I'm in!!

It sounds like so much fun! I met a runner on my choir trip, I'll check with her and see if she's crazy enough to want to do this, too.

I do have a room reserved for the Leading ladies marathon. I am debating whether to go or not. Awful lot of driving involved. I have not registered for the race yet, but I think I still have time.

I talked to my trainer, Ginger, and she is interested in doing the relay. She also passed on the information to her sister and a few other clients, so I'm really optimistic that we'll be able to get a team together. YEA!!
