OK--no one seems to be talking, but I just want to congratulate all that ran the Earth Day run, as I think Fargo kicked some serious booty down in St. Cloud!!! I have not had a chance to chat with everyone, but despite some tough runs for our girls everyone finished strong.
We had some tough weather to start and finish with, but it was cool outside and didn't rain for most of the course, which made it easier to stay hydrated and energized.
Diane and Kim, I heard that you pulled each other to the end--I knew something was up as you passed by---you both looked no worse for the wear--I would've never known. Tell us about your run!!! I think it is awesome that you crossed the line together--makes me cry to think about it--I wish I would've seen it.
Barb and Sarah--you guys as well--Leah shared a little about your run with us at lunch afterword, you both are awesome for sticking it out and crossing the finish line. You'll have to fill us in on the details.
Also, for all of you that stayed back and did the MS run and WON it for cripes sake--strong work!!! Good thing Leah scored an extra Medal for our home town weiner--I mean winner. Sheri--I still owe you some $$ for the walk, I am so glad that there was so much good done for MS this past weekend as well.
I am looking forward to having the "gang" all back together this weekend for our last "big one" before the race---hopefully will also see some of you in the am on the streets this week!
Have a great week, ladies!

Oh heck yeah, we most certainly did paint the earth pink! I missed seeing you Dr. J!!! I can't believe our paths never crossed! Oh wait a minute...there was a tornado at the front of the pack...that must've been you!
Kim and I had a great run. I had a few mis-haps along the way but Kim was always right there to keep me going! I freaked out on Mark as he tried to disrobe me, promised a stranger I'd bear his child for retrieving my dropped garmin, performed a side-splitting leapfrog routine for some football players as I fumbled for my lost water bottle and got my last kick of energy when I had to sprint around a girl whose white shorts had been sucked way up into her butt. These stories will be a lot more fun to hear in detail on Saturday! I am soooo anxious (that is so sick) for the 22 mile run!
Have a great week everyone!
I had an amazingly fast run. I paced with speedy Leah (who for those of you who don't know- her strategy is chasing and catching people) for the first 8 before I had to drop back a little so I was able to finish standing up! Thanks Leah for keeping me going that long-how awesome! My IPOD was dead so I had no music the whole entire time although I was wearing it! I had always heard about when runners see the finish line they start sprinting, I had never experienced that until this race. I literally saw that finish line and I just started sprinting, it was crazy. I was passing people like I had just started running. The energy of the croud that last quarter mile was awesome! I took 18 minutes off of my first half marathon time so I was pleased with that to say the least!! And I beat my goal by about 4 minutes! It once again reminded of how I am soo blessed to be surrounded by such a supportive group of women. ps...i won't be at the run this Saturday-I'll be at the in-laws in Bismarck.
Since no one is tooting thier own horn here are a list of PRs that I know about.
Jen: 1:46 and change!!! ON FIRE!
Leah: 1:53 and change!
Candace 1:56 and change
Heidi 2:02 and change
Kim and Diane, I am not sure if you PRd but you looked darn cute crossing the finish line hand in hand! ;)
I had a fun race! I went out with the intent of racing a 1:54...though I forgot my Garmin in the car and realized it when it was too late. I must have annoyed a lot of people out on the course, asking for the time and thier pace...and then passing them. Candace, you were good company. Even though we didn't talk much, it was so helpful to have you there by my side. though the sun wasn't in front of me...and the wind wasn't behind me...I still had a friend beside me ;)
By the way, I had two people stop me to read my shirt. And Heidi overheard some people commenting about them too! Are we wearing them this weekend for our LONG run ladies? I think we should. Comraderie for the longest run...even though we aren't running the same pace, we are still in it together!
It was a PR for me 1:56 and change(quite a bit of change but who's counting!)....by the way Candace was 1:55 and change. Not sure if this was a PR for Lady M but I know it was a great run for her as well. What a great group of Fast Women!
I have goosebumps reading your stories. WAY TO GO PINKIES!!!! I am so proud of you all. Wish I could have joined you. Speedy times as well!!!!
There were a few of us running in FGO Sat morning after the rain passed (JenQ and Jill must have stayed in bed).
Candace, I'll miss running with you on Sat.
I'm sad to say that I'm still not running except for Saturdays - my knee/hammy is killing me. Who has a suggestion for somebody I can go see about it?
Tracy
Go see Dr. Tom Kemper at Natural Health and Chiropractic. You'll have to look up his number in the phone book...or get it from Kathleen and Diane. He's amazing...honestly. He's a good friend but also very athletic himself...so he'll give you some great feedback without telling you that you HAVE to stay off your legs.
To be exact my time was 1:55:59...it doesn't get much closer to 56 than that ! Tracy sorry to hear about your leg! UGH! So close to race day.
candace.....my time was 1:56:59....but I like Leah's term "with change" cha..ching!
Tracy....definitely see if Dr. Kemper can help you....Not sure what he can do for your knee but he certainly has helped my hip and lower back....give him a call...I'll email you his number.
I can wash up my WHOR duds and wear them this Sat--it's the last big one, lets celebrate in classy style!!!
I am amazed at how fast ALL of you ran. I am hoping to run a 2:08 in Fargo, you all make me want to dream bigger:-)
Finally I am set up to respond to the blogs...
It is so fun to read this blog and see how well everyone did! I"m with Sheri- I can't believe you ran so FAST!!! My half PR is 2:11. I hope I can keep up with Sheri in a few weeks!
Madame B
I just noticed the picture! The shirts look GREAT!
I recognize everyone except for the runner in the long sleeve white RRR shirt- can anyone remind me who she is? She looks familiar, but I can't place her.
Thanks!
Madame B
Leslie....jen's friend. Super fast ;)
Look at poor Diane and I! We both have no boobs and so we look like we're joined at the chest---you wanna wear socks for the marathon, Diane???
