YMCA Adult Swim

I just received this mail from the YMCA. I know we have a lot of swimmers out there, and this might be a fun change of pace for the summer. Hell, I might even try it, if they let me bring my floaties:)

Adult Swim Training:

The perfect opportunity for triathlon participants, future master
swimmers, or a lifelong swimmer! Come join us every Tuesday and
Thursday at the Island Park pool to be coached by Talia Merritt, Head
Coach of the F-M Y Gators. Talia will take you through workouts designed
for your needs. Participants are encouraged to be able to swim at least
50 yards without stopping to participate.

Classes will be at Island Park Starting June 19th, on Tuesday and
Thursdays from 6:00-7:00am. The program will run through Aug 2nd.

Cost is $30.00 for members, $40.00 for non-members. Contact the front
desk to register. Questions contact Pauline Alba at 701-364-4167 or
Talia Merritt at 701-364-4151

How many laps is 50 yards?

How 'bout a class for lifetime thrashers? I am a horrible swimmer.
Missed you ALL at TRF this morning. Yes, I finally made it. Wow - hot and humid! 3 or 4 one mile repeats with short rest between. So the super fast passed me on several occasions. GREAT workout! And the speedy guys were encouraging too. Don't be intimidated to show up.
Anyone running tomorrow morning with RRR or otherwise? I'd prefer 7am to 6am at the Y if anyone is interested.

Hey Ladies.

50 Meters is one there and back in the Y pool...is that right? or is it 2 there and backs?

I sent a text to those of you who I had phone numbers for that I knew would be at TRF. I couldn't make it. I left work yesterday with Pink Eye, a Sinus Infection AND my period. Call me Kathleen!

I really think that I will do this swimming thing. I was going to post a blog yesterday about the lap swim times at the Island Park Pool. I think it's every day from noon to 1:15 and MWF at 6:00 til 7. I could be wrong on that last peice. Check out the parks and rec site. anyway, I would MUCH prefer to swim outside than inside.

6-7 am doesn't work for me, but I would be willing to do the 6p-7p if that is a go. Definately want ot keep swimming and hopefully not in the basement of the Y for as long as we have summer!!!

The reason I joined the Y was to save moola, because I have been swimming, so I do not want to spend more to swim outside. I probably could use some pointers tho. So I will still be hangin in the basement........
