Lake (sneaky way to say HILL) Run !!!!!

Laides!!!!
You are all welcome to come to my Lake Place on Saturday, August 2nd for a hill run. I would plan to be there by 7 am so that we can get started before it gets too hot. To get the most devine scenery, we will start at the Pelican Lake EAST PUBLIC ACCESS. From there we will run the South Pelican Lake Road to Highway 59 and back.

The total distance (if you want to run the whole thing) is about 8 miles (or so-maybe a little more.) BUT you do not need to run the whole thing. You can turn around where you want. It will be an "out and back" so distance is definately your choice.

After we are done, I would be happy to host coffee at my cabin (21268 county hwy #20) or we can hit the ADORABLE coffee shop in Pelican Rapids!!!

For those of you who aren't familiar with the lakes area--we are about 40-45 minutes from Fargo. You take I-94 to the Downer (#15) exit. Take a Left at the stop sign and head towards Downer. Downer has 1 stop sign. Go through it. Stay on that road through 2 more stop signs. At the 3rd stop sign, you should be at the Roadhouse restaurant.

Take a right at the Roadhouse. Follow that road through Cormorant village. You will come to another stop sign and will then be at the Pelican Lake Zorbaz. Turn Left.

Follow this road past my cabin (21268) for approx 4 miles. You will see signs for the Castaway Camp. Turn Left onto the road that leads to the camp. If you see the Catholic Church with the Green statue of Mary-you have gone just past the turn!

Follow this road past the camp to the public access parking lot. We will be waiting for you there!!!

Be there or be square!!!!

Woo Hoo I have Saturday off. I plan to be there. What, we don't want to start at noon so we have BOTH hills and heat?

Because we are doing a lake/hill run on Saturday, I WILL be doing the ramp run...without the ramps this Thursday. I will just be doing Island Park loops and saving my butt for the hills at Pelican!

Will anyone be driving down that morning and back early afternoon/after coffee?? Carpool?!

Sounds like the place to be! I will plan on being there in some capacity. My foot is not doing well so I might do a combo of running/bike riding if Jen will let me borrow her bike. If I decide to not run, I could be the token water girl, as I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated.

OOOOOPPPPSS!! I said to turn LEFT to get to the camp--it is a RIGHT!!!

So, past my cabin, follow the signs to castaway camp. Turn RIGHT and go past the camp to the public access!!!

Also, I am kinda thinking that we should meet at the Pelican Rapids Coffee shop--any body really bent on my cabin?? Or would you be willing to drive to Pelican????

I am voting for your cabin, mainly cuz I want to jump in the lake. I love that part about running at the lake.

ooohhhh!!! me to, me too!!!! I like the water idea after the run. that is seriously the best part! I'll contribute to the coffee fund!

Heck, I'll make the coffee. Maybe even spiff it up a bit! Which reminds me of a new favorite I have discovered......Ice cold corona after a hot run. I haven't been a beer drinker for probably 25
years. I can't believe how good it tastes. Kinda scarey.

ok! It's the cabin, then!!! Coffee and (?Beer?) at 21268 County Hwy 20 after the run!!!

Once I get a final head count, maybe we all could bring a breakfast item????

K, we run, then jump in the lake to clean up a tad and then breakfast at Peggy's (BayView Resort). Great food.
